Once again we have learnt a bit about Victorian London. This book shows the worry of Victorian Londoners about diet and their ignorance about diet, and whether corpulence could be detrimental to health. Interesting enough, some doctors believe that water was fattening and instructed patients to stop drinking it, while others thought that butter contained fat but that didn’t mean it could transform into fat when consumed.

So the last mystery is solved. I’m sorry to say goodbye to Frances, Sarah, Inspector Sharrock and the others. I’ve seen that there are a couple of books on the works, but I’ll have to be patient and wait for the next mystery which is supposed to be published next year.
