Kind of Cruel 6 (Pages 174 – 244)

KIND-OF-CRUEL-OPT

SPOILERS!!!

After the fire, Amber, Luke and the girls move to Hilary and Kristy’s home. Jo offered to take them in, and that was the last thing Amber would accept, and then Hilary volunteered to move herself and Kirsty to Jo’s and let Amber stay in hers.

Charlie comes to see Amber, and Amber wants to know if Charlie saw someone when she left the envelope for her the night before. The arsonist must have been around, but Charlie didn’t see anyone. Then Amber asks Charlie a favour; she wants Charlie to book Little Orchard, using her details. What Amber says is that the owner must have her on a blacklist for something that happened seven years ago, and she is sure that what Veronica told her is a lie. Charlie refuses to help her. Yet, at home she checks the website for the bookings, and she notices that the name of the owner is very British.

Later that day Amber picks up the girls and drives to Little Orchard. When she gets there, the woman who opens the door is a cleaner, and when Amber demands to know the name of the owner, the woman refuses to say anything.  Dinah and Nonie, the girls, are really great character, and they talk a lot. Dinah is very bossy and Nonie is too sensitive. Dinah tells Amber that she saw the words “Kind, Cruel, Kind of Cruel”, and wants to know what they mean. Amber tries not to say anything, and Dinah says that she does know what they mean because she wrote them.

Oh my! What is this? My suspicions grow stronger, and I think that Luke could be involved. If Dinah wrote those words, the only person who had access to it is Amber and Luke. And the fact that Kat Allen’s boyfriend is Luke makes me very suspicious.
