It has been ten days since Irene and her sons returned from St John. Circumstances are going to push them to return sooner rather than later.

The FBI is investigating Russ’s business and his and Rosie’s death. Irene discovers that Russ had an account in the Cayman Islands, and he also paid a large amount of cash into a local account they have. Irene goes to the magazine and tells her new boss that Russ is dead, and after telling her the whole story, she quits.

The FBI are also investigating Rosie, and Ayers and Huck find a large amount of cash in one of the drawers in Rosie’s room. After that, Adam, Huck’s assistant on the boat, quits, and he calls Irene, joking about the possibility of her getting the job. In the end, she misses the island and also Huck, so she decides to go.

Cash also moves to St John after discovering that there are no positions for him as a ski instructor so advanced in the season. So when Ayers texts him a link to a vacancy in the crew of her boat, Cash decides to leave and join her.

Baker also makes the same decision. Anna and her girlfriend, Louisa, talk to him. They tell him that Louisa was offered a job in Cleveland, which she accepted, and Anna later offered her professional experience in the same hospital, so she was offered a job. At first, Anna wants Baker to move to Cleveland, reasoning that Louisa is going to have a baby by an expert donor, and they want the family together, including Floyd. Baker refuses, and in the end, the women accept to have Floyd during the holidays. After that, Baker has some thinking and now that nothing ties him to Houston, he decides to move to St John, and the two brothers come face to face the same day they arrive.

Ayers is back with Mick, but she is not happy. She still thinks of Baker, and is disappointed he hasn’t contacted. When Huck asks her to help him with Rosie’s things. Apart from the money, Ayers finds Rosie’s diaries, which she sneaks out of the house before Huck finds them.

In the diaries we discover that Rosie first met Russ when she was a waitress in a hotel, and Russ was there with Todd, who offered him a job. Rosie liked him, and when he helped her get rid of her troublesome ex-boyfriend, Rosie felt drawn to him. Then she found him the next day, and they spent the weekend together. Russ was honest with her, telling her that he was married and had two sons, but he also said that his wife paid little attention to him and he felt neglected. I know that Irene admitted as much, but I don’t like how Russ never tried to talk to her, and decided to chat up a woman who could be his daughter.

I am curious to know if Russ was really involved in seedy business or if he was just an innocent pawn, manipulated by Todd.
