New Book – A Distant Dream by Pam Evans (Pages 1 – 6)

I have only read a few pages of this new book, and it is the first book by Pam Evans I’m going to read.

In these first pages we are introduced to Flo Stubbs, who runs a café with her husband, Dick in 1936. Five years ago Dick was in the dole, and thanks to a small sum of money Flo got from a man she cleaned for, they bought the old cricket pavillion and transformed it into a café. We also know that Flo has a fifteen-year-old daughter, May, and some years ago they lost a son to diphtheria.
