A Deadly Thaw 2 (Chapters 2 – 11)

SPOILERS!!!

The only explanation to the reason why Andrew Fisher has now reappeared dead is that the identification made in 2004 was wrong. Sadler tells Connie that the person who identified him was his wife, Lena, so she must have known that the person she killed was not her husband, and for some reason she intentionally mislaid the police. Sadler is worried because even though he was not involved in the investigation full time back then, he was still part of it. The pathologist, Bill, is also worried what this blunder would mean for him because he should have tested for DNA to identify the victim once it was clear it was murder.

Connie and Palmer go to see Lena, but they do not get much from her. When the police are gone, Lena stays with her younger sister Kat, who demands to know who she killed and who she identified as her husband, but Lena keeps repeating that she can’t say because there are things she can’t say. The next day when Kat gets up, she discovers that her sister is nowhwere in the house but all her things are in her room and the study where she paints. When Sadler drops by, expecting to question Lena, Kat says that her sister is gone and must have left somewhere in the middle of the night.

This is getting more and more interesting. Who is the man who Lena killed and identified? And where was her husband all these years? Why did he disappear?
