The Girl Who Kicked the Hornests’ Nest 7 (Pages 318 – 341)

Trinity and the Plague manage to hack into Teleborian’s computer, and they send the contents to Lisbeth. She discovers that the psychiatrist has dozens of child pornography, which does not surprise her because when she was sectioned, Teleborian used to come to her room, and even though he never touched her, she felt his leering eyes.

Blomkvist meets Sonja Modig in secret, and she tells him that they are powerless. Her partner, Jerker, went to talk to a former Prime MInister, who is a friend of his father’s, and the Minister says that he was aware of Zalachenko, but he was led to believe that they were protecting him, and a man who is now a diplomat in Amsterdam was assigned as the one to communicate with the people in charge of Zalachenko. Modig asks Blomkvist to go to Amsterdam to see the diplomat, and he agrees. In Amsterdam Blomkvist learns that everything was hush hush, and this man didn’t know much more than the then Prime Minister, but Blomkvist discovers that the man who murdered Zalachenko was not a simple accountant, but someone working for SIS in a special section.

Back in Stockholm Blomkvist gets the visit of Monica Figuerola who tells her to come with her. She takes him to a flat where Endlinth, director of the Security Police, the Minister of Justice, and the Prime Minister. They want to know how much Blomkvist knows, and Mikael is not sure whether to trust these men, who could be striving to sweep this scandal under the rug. After they talk, Blomkvist agrees to cooperate and he is hired as an external investigator.
