I have just read a few pages of this new book by Judith Lennox.
The novel starts in 1920, and the main character is Poppy Vanburgh. Poppy is almost twenty-one, and that summer she is spending her holidays with her mother and her eldest sisters, Rose and Iris in Deauville. One man catches Poppy’s eye, and they start talking when Poppy watches him build a sandcastle. From then on Poppy and Ralph Mulgrave start walking on the beach together and some kind of friendship between them develops.
The start seems promising. I am sure I am going to enjoy this book as much as other books by the same author.
