The part I read this morning continues exploring Agatha’s disappearance from the perspective of the police and his husband. The police officers in charge of the case thought that Mrs Christie has either committed suicide or been murdered by her husband. The press also played an important role in spreading the mystery and came up with different theories. No one, though, took the letter that Agatha sent to her brother-in-law at face value as she explained that she was unwell and miserable and was on her way to a spa in Yorkshire.
The police draned the Silent Pool. Silent Pool is a spring-fed lake at the foot of the North Downs, about 6.5 kilometres east of Guildford in Surrey.
One of the celebrities that joined the search for Agatha was the famous author Dorothy L. Sayers. Dorothy L. Sayers visited the house in Surrey, later using the scenario in her book Unnatural Death.
