You Had me at Hello – Facts


The plot is set in Manchester. This is one place in England I have never been, but it is public knowledge that it is one of the biggest cities in the United Kingdom.  It lies within the United Kingdom’s second-most populous urban area, with a population of 2.55 million.

Ben and Rachel meet at Manchester University. The University of Manchester is regarded as a red brick university, and was a product of the civic university movement of the late-19th century.

Then at present Rachel and Ben re-meet in Manchester’s central library.

Ben and Olivia live in Didsbury. Didsbury is a suburban area of Manchester.  It lies on the north bank of the River Mersey, 7.2 km south of Manchester city centre.

Ben and Rachel meet for lunch twice. Once in Platt Fields where they sit and feed the ducks as they speak. Platt Fields Park is a large public park in Fallowfield, Manchester, England which is home to Platt Hall.

The second time was in St John’s Garden, which is the time Rachel thinks it is the last time she will see Ben. St John’s Gardens in central Manchester. Previously occupied by St John’s Church and its graveyard between 1769 and 1931, the site was redeveloped into a formal garden in 1932.
