This is just a short story introducing the characters of Linda Green’s The Mummyfesto.
The characters are Sam who is the mum of two boys, one of them is in a wheelchair as he was born with spina bifida. Then there is Jackie, who is little Esme’s mother, and whose mum is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. And Anna who has two teenage children and a young daughter. These three women meet at the school gates and are friends, and on New Year’s Eve they meet for some quality time, and they agree they should do it from time to time.
The story doesn’t have much flesh, so to speak. It is simply the introduction of these characters, who so far I find interesting, and who I will enjoy reading about when I start the novel.
