I’ve only started this book.
We are introduced to Darcey McGonigle, who lives in Dublin and works in the financial department of some company. It is her birthday, but she has sworn off birthday since she is quite disappointed on life and how her wishes have never come true. We know that her family live in Galway and they think she is a high-flyer executive. She has two twin sisters, who are a year older than she is. Apart from that, Darcey seems to be strained by the big mortgage she has to shoulder after buying an apartment in a prosperous part of Dublin. I am not sure if Darcey is really happy, but so far she seems a bit grumpy.
