This new book about old Egypt starts with a birth.
Anhotek, scribe and priest, tends to Queen Nerth-hotpu as she gone into labour. Anhotek realizes that the baby is breech. Botch child and mother are in danger, and when the queen starts bleeding, he makes the decision to save the baby. He makes an incision into her stomach, and manages to take the baby out. However, the last part of the chapter, Anhotek tells us that the baby is turning blue and is convulsing, froth coming out of his mouth. So is the baby dead then?
